Have a message to share?
Here are some things to think about.
Leave an anonymous message or pep talk for our Message for You playlists, where your contribution can offer a little extra encouragement to anyone who may be in need.
Let’s embrace our personal power, and help fight the negative stigma surrounding mental health.

Take some time to reflect.
Take a few deep breaths and try to relax- this is a no pressure zone. Think about yourself, your journey, and your personal growth. Try to find a point of relatability. Everyone has their own personal struggles and can often feel alone in their pain, no matter what’s causing it. Reflect on something that may have effected you in this way, remember how it felt or how it altered your life. It is okay to accept these moments of sadness, and to reflect on them in a perspective of growth. Admire yourself for how far you have come.
Think of what you needed to hear.
When you were in a difficult place, did you have someone you spoke to? Did you have an artistic or athletic outlet? What were the things that made you feel better? Try to remind yourself of these. You were able to take this pain that you felt and learn to overcome it, something that is truly admirable. Think about the countless people who feel lost and hurt, who could be dealing with a similar situation as you, and try to think of some words, stories, quotes, songs, etc., that would have helped encourage you on your journey.
Keep your words positive.
The point of the Message for You program, is to create a series of safe, inclusive, and positive recordings that are available for any listener to access at any time. The recordings offer supportive language and encouragement for people who may feel lost, hopeless, or like they just need some extra support. So while you reflect on your own journey, and offer words of encouragement, we ask you to keep the tone as light and optimistic as possible. Please use gender neutral terminology when addressing the audience (you, they, friend, etc.), and try not to project any negativity in your message- we are focusing on support for everyone.
Organize yourself.
Before you record or write your message, we have a few extra tips. We recommend writing a quick note with all of the points you wish to say, so when you record you don’t feel intimidated or nervous. Take some deep breaths and remind yourself that it’s okay to be vulnerable- all recordings that are submitted will be kept entirely anonymous. Embracing moments of hardship, and accepting their reality help break the stigma around mental health. It’s okay to not be okay. Record your message in a quiet and comfortable place. Your contribution is so immensely appreciated and is not meant to cause you any discomfort. So, if you decide to contribute a recording, make sure you feel comfortable and safe.

Want to submit an anonymous recording?
